Chantal Heijnen & Lou van Melik
170 x 240 mm
104 pages including 44 foldout pages
Seven-year-old Lou took photographs from the back seat of his parents’ rental car during the Covid-19 pandemic in New York. His mother Chantal documented family live on a small camping site in The Netherlands when they decided to extend their summer break for a year and not return to a city that felt like a war zone when they left. The book juxtaposes the tilted photographs of Lou of a city in distress and the images of a poetic, idyllic life in rural Holland, captured by Chantal.
